APPLYING FOR SERVICE

An application must be completed by the person applying for new service.

  1.  Information required on the application consists of:Marital StatusSpouse/Responsible PartyService AddressEmployer of Applicant and Spouse/Responsible PartyPhone Number where Applicant can be reachedName, Address, & Phone Number of nearest relative not living with applicant

  2.  Two of the following identifications are required with one being photo identification:Valid Driver’s License Social Security CardBirth CertificateVoter’s RegistrationInsurance CardPhoto Identification

      McMinnville Electric System will make a copy of all identification presented.

  1. If the applicant is unable to apply in person, an application must be completed, notarized and returned to McMinnville Electric System along with copies of two of the required identifications.

  2. Any applicant under the age of eighteen that states he/she is married must produce a valid marriage certificate.

  3. A connection fee will be collected during the application of service process.  This fee is not refundable and covers the cost of establishing service at the physical address, establishing the applicant’s billing records, and the cost of removal of the service when the customer discontinues service.

  4. Connection fees are established by management and approved by the Board of Public Utilities.  The current schedule of connection fees is listed on theFee Schedule page of this website.

  5. Deposit requirements must be met before service is connected.   Deposit information is available in the deposit section of this website.

  6. Any customer transferring service from one location to another will be charged a transfer fee.  The current schedule of connection fees is listed on the Fee Schedule page of this website. This fee is not refundable.  If the customer requests a transfer of service in person, the fee will be collected at that time.  Customers who request a transfer of service by telephone may have their transfer fee applied to the first electric billing at the new location provided they have a good pay rating.   Customers with less than a good pay rating who request a transfer by telephone may be asked to pay the transfer fee before the transfer order is accepted.

9. Any customer transferring service from one location to another may be asked to make an additional deposit.  Deposit information      is available in the deposit section of this website.  Any customer who is in arrears and requests a transfer of service must pay all      arrears before the transfers of service will be done.

 

Any applicant for service requesting the opportunity to dispute any action or determination of MES will be given an opportunity to do so in accordance with the hearing appeal procedures that are in effect for a customer of McMinnville Electric System.
