One recent improvement we're excited to share with our customers is our new outage map. MES recently partnered with Hometown Grid to improve the way we communicate with customers and manage power outages. As part of that partnership, customers can now view an outage map directly from the MES website.
When customers call to report a power outage, they will have the option to leave a voice message or report the outage by text. The system will respond to confirm that the outage report has been received, and customers will be able to see reported outages reflected on the map.
The new system also gives our employees better tools behind the scenes. Our team now has an internal outage dashboard that gives us a better view of outages across the system and helps our employees coordinate information and response efforts.
We have also recently launched new MES social media accounts, giving us another tool to communicate directly with our customers. We plan to use these platforms to share important system information, outage updates, community events, and other news from MES. Not everyone receives information the same way, so expanding the ways we can reach our customers is an important part of improving communication.
Together, these new tools give our employees better information as they manage an outage and give customers more ways to stay informed about what is happening across the MES system.

Whether we're celebrating our customers, supporting a local organization, investing in our electrical system or finding better ways to communicate, it all comes back to the same thing—serving McMinnville well. That's what public power is about, and it's something we're proud to do every day.
